Capstone: Northrop Grumman Carbon Fiber Strip Abrader
Carbon fiber strips are used in the construction of a telescoping solar cell array for satellites. The task at hand was to create an automated abrasion system for these strips so that the abrasion for adhesion does not have to be done by hand. Automatic Rickshaw Cooling System
Rickshaws are ubiquitous in many developing nations. We noticed that these vehicles lack cooling systems. Our device powers a fan with a battery when the rickshaw is stationary, and charges that battery while turning the fan off when the rickshaw is in motion. We demonstrated this device using an electric skateboard to simulate a rickshaw. For more detailed information about this project, view the poster here.
